Creative Journeys

The Creative Journey continues in January 2019 with sessions running in Shoreham AND A NEW COURSE IN ARUNDEL

This course is aimed at encouraging a regular creative practice, in whatever form or media. Using a sketchbook as a visual diary in which to record your observations and discoveries, as well as drawing and painting on a larger scale; this course will be playful and experimental and will involve discussion as well as practical work each week. You will be expected to do your own work between sessions. Bring your own materials and a camera. Each term there will be a new project.

Shoreham Sessions – January 2019 – Working from the Figure

Arundel Sessions – January 2019 - Creative Journeys: Keeping a Visual Diary

This course has run successfully in Brighton, then Shoreham, and now I am bringing it to Arundel. Perfect for that New Year feeling, starting as you mean to go on, why not join this course designed to encourage a regular practice. Starting small, working from the everyday stuff of our lives, you need look no further than what’s in your bag, on your kitchen table, or look out the window for inspiration. Keeping a Visual Diary can be a great way of developing ideas, letting things emerge through daily drawing.

You will be working in sketchbooks for the first term, but not as you know them – working in 2 or 3 different books throughout, in a non-chronological way, you will be given exercises and encouraged to experiment, pouring ink, deconstructing pages, reworking into them, providing an exciting space to work with, and a fascinating record of your creative thought processes. This fortnightly course will be a fantastic start to your creative practice in the New Year!
