Arundel Sessions 2020 – Creative Journeys: Painting from Sketchbooks - Travel
This course has run successfully in Brighton, then Shoreham, and now I am bringing it to Arundel. Perfect for that New Year feeling, starting as you mean to go on, why not join this course designed to encourage a regular practice.
Painting from Sketchbooks – The Creative Journey continues with the travel theme for those continuing from last term, but also welcomes new or returning students who have sketchbooks they would like to work with into paint. Each week you will be given exercises and processes to experiment with materials and ideas, including a basic introduction to paint, painting mediums, and surfaces to paint on. You will be encouraged to look at your sketchbooks as a rich resource for new images to emerge from, rather than as pages to copy. This will allow you to maintain the freshness and spontaneity of your sketchbook studies. You can expect to do exercises and quick studies, as well as work towards a series of paintings. This course will continue into the Summer term
NB This term the course runs in parallel with the Shoreham course, but being longer, individual sessions will differ.
