Drawing for All began with a simple idea: that drawing is for everyone. It isn’t an innate skill but a way of looking, and looking is something we can all learn to do more deeply.
In Part 1 we drew simple objects with line and tone, explored the basic rules of perspective, and experimented with different materials to describe organic forms, from plants to landscape and the figure.
Part 2 continues that journey. Over four live sessions we keep drawing together, building on those foundations and going further into what drawing can be: a practice of attention, curiosity and play, where every mark teaches you something.
You don’t need to have done Part 1 to join Part 2. The two courses overlap in useful ways, but each one stands on its own.
A different way of learning to draw, without fear
This is not an academic drawing course. There are no rules to get right, and no single correct way for a drawing to look. Instead, we learn to draw from an experimental place: through warm-ups that get the body moving and the mind out of the way, through materials explored for what they can do, and through looking so closely that the drawing begins to find itself.
It is a much more intuitive way of working. Understanding and curiosity are at the heart of it: we look at how things are built, how light falls and how space works, but always as a way of seeing more freely rather than as a set of instructions.
That makes it just as suitable for complete beginners as for people with an art education. If you have never drawn before, you won’t be asked to be good at it, only to be present. If you’ve trained in a more formal way, this is a chance to unlearn a little, loosen up, and rediscover the pleasure of making marks.
